Ex-British Army Gurkhas forced to live in poverty by Whitehall pen-pushers

While thousands of immigrants from God knows where are being allowed to pour into this country unchecked, while thousands of "asylum seekers" are allowed to remain here unchallenged and while thousands of economic migrants from eastern Europe are allowed to set up home, live off benefits and take British jobs, a few hundred former British Army Gurkhas and their families are being forced to live in poverty while they await permission to live in the UK. These Gurkhas had served Britain faithfully and loyally for many years and many of their mates had given up their lives in the service of this country. And how does the British Government repay them? It does everything it can to make their lives a misery. They are not allowed to work, receive benefits or use the NHS. Their only income is what their sons, themselves serving in the British Army, send home.
Former Gurkha Ash Bahadur Gurung, 57, who served in the 6th Queen Elizabeth’s Own Gurkha Rifles for 16 years in India, Hong Kong and the UK, has been waiting for two years to hear from the Home Office whether his application to remain here will be accepted.

Only today in a BBC interview, Prince Harry was praising his Gurkha comrades-in-arms and recounted how well they had been looking out for him in Afghanistan. It is deplorable and disgraceful that Whitehall civil servants aren't doing the same and looking after these former British soldiers here in the UK.
