Military Provost Staff honoured

The work of the Military Provost Staff in Afghanistan and Iraq has been recognised by the awarding of commendation medals at a ceremony last week in Colchester.
MPS normally runs the Military Corrective Training Centre in Colchester but during the hostilities in the Middle East, the guys have been operating detention centres in Basra and Afghanistan at which local civilians are also detained.
Sergeant Peter McGrath said: "We are a step between the British and Afghanistan authorities. We take in detainees, process them, give them a medical check and, given the evidence, decide whether they get transferred to Afghan authorities or remain with us."

Well done, lads!
