response to the RAF Wittering fiasco, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph has launched a campaign and petition to encourage the base CO and the MoD to overturn their decision to ban RAF personnel from wearing their uniforms in Peterborough because of abuse from locals. The newspaper is also urging the people of Peterborough to turn out in force to show their support for the Armed forces when a parade of soldiers from the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment and RAF Wittering takes place later in the year.
