"Wear a Royal Irish wristband to show you care"

Soldiers from 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment have produced a wristband to help build support within their local community as they prepare for their forthcoming deployment to Afghanistan. The Battalion, which is based in Clive Barracks in Tern Hill, Shropshire, hopes that the wristband, bearing the words 'Wear a Royal Irish wristband to show you care!', will help raise awareness and enable the local community to show its support for the Battalion. Any money raised will go into the Battalion's welfare fund which gives immediate assistance to family members in times of dire need.

Anyone interested in buying a wristband should send a cheque or postal order for two pounds to the Regimental Welfare Officer, 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment, Clive Barracks, Tern Hill, Shropshire TF9 3QE – cheques should be made payable to 'Central Bank 1 Royal Irish'.
