Marines win hearts and minds in Afghanistan

Ignoring the recent criticism from the US Defence Secretary, British forces are continuing their well established campaign to win the hearts and minds of the people of Afghanistan. Today the Ministry of Defence described the work of the "outreach patrols" conducted by Delta Company, 40 Commando, Royal Marines in Northern Helmand.
The patrols bring a range of assistance to the local people including medical care from a mobile clinic, engineering help with rebuilding work and aid and supplies.
