Lance Cpl Ben Mayer, a former regimental police 
officer with the Royal Anglians, has been refused a job with the Metropolitan Police for the simple reason that he's white. It had been his ambition to follow up his army career with service in the police force but the Met didn't even bother to send him an application form - because of his colour. Had he been a non-white muslim, the Met would have welcomed him with open arms, however qualified he was! The British Army is hard at work training muslim police forces in Iraq and Afghanistan at the same time as the Met is training a muslim police force back in the UK.
