Sudan 2 : Army 0

While the British Government has been putting the financial squeeze on the Armed Forces, it has at the same time been dishing out £millions to our great friends around the world. Last year for example Sudan received £113million in handouts from British taxpayers making it one of the highest recipients of aid from the UK's Department for International Development.

On the one hand Hash Brown is quite happy to play the great benefactor on the world stage by cancelling Third World debts and distributing largesse to all and sundry.

On the other hand he is penny-pinching and tight-fisted when it comes to ensuring that those carrying out his Government's foreign policy in Iraq and Afghanistan are being adequately funded.
