They can show what's meant by commitment, discipline, loyalty, honour, courage and all those other qualities all too often derided in classrooms today.
Skillforce already has a highly successful track record of working in schools and are part of the regular curriculum in many. The idea for AFD is to pay one-off visits to show the flag, answer questions and motivate the kids.
The presence of service personnel in classrooms is accepted practice in the States......which might explain why the only picture I could find was from the US.
