Anglian MPs hear it from The Royal Anglians

Soldiers from the Second Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment invited their local MPs to a briefing session in the House of Coomons during which they relayed their experiences from their recent deployment in Iraq.

General Sir John McColl remarked that the Regiment was a family with its roots deep in its local community "from which came a ready supply of brave young men, together with the moral support necessary to sustain them through difficult times".

MP Malcolm Moss, praising the Regiment's work in Iraq, said: 'We are privileged to have such a dedicated and brave group of men and women serving in our Armed Forces. I am proud of the Royal Anglian Regiment and pleased to note that some of my constituents serve the country as part of this regiment.'

All of us in East Anglia are proud of 'em.
