Sunday June 8th 2008 - 4 platoon, B Company, 2 Para








“Don’t ask me about the politics of this country,” said Pte Powell. “I don’t really understand it because I’m not that well educated. I just know that I have to do my job properly and I fight as hard as I can because I don’t want to lose any more mates."
Like many of the 8,000 soldiers in Helmand, they are not fighting for the lofty policies of the Government or for the people of Afghanistan, but for each other.
