In services held at all their bases across Afghanistan members of the Royal Horse Artillery and Household Cavalry joined together to pay tribute to their comrades who died in Helmand two years ago. A sychronised firing of field guns rang out across Helmand in a salute to the Fallen.
In Camp Bastion a service was held in front of the cairn set up in memory of all those who have been killed in Afghanistan since 2006 when Operation Herrick began. Major Kevin Fitchett, who laid a wreath of poppies at the monument said: " We are carrying out this service to remember the guys who have fallen before us on Operation HERRICK. We are holding exactly the same service in all of our locations where our soldiers are based in Afghanistan with a light gun firing all at the same time."
We will remember them.
