MoD to use GreenRoad backseat drivers

The Ministry of Defence is deciding whether it will use electronic backseat drivers to improve the standard of driving of service personnel. The GreenRoad Safety Center will be installed in about 200 vehicles operated by all three services on a six month trial basis; 2000 drivers will take part in the evaluation exercise.
The "green box" uses in-vehicle sensors to monitor and evaluate the driver's behaviour, style and reaction times and records data from 120 different driving manoeuvres . The feedback provided by the system is intended to identify where a driver's behaviour could be modified to improve overall road safety. GreenRoad reckons that its driver safety and risk management technologies can reduce crash rates by 54%
The MoD Road Safety Officer is reported as saying: “As part of our commitment to duty of care, we have an obligation for the safety of all MOD personnel – whether they are drivers or passengers. We have partnered with GreenRoad because they have innovative technology that can potentially modify driver behaviour, where required.”
An American voice apparently whispers into the driver's ear telling him off when he does something wrong and praising him when he does it right; sounds just the sort of thing you'd like to hear.
