Soldiers of 1 Battalion The Royal Welsh Regiment and their families got a real welcome home when they returned to Cheshire following a two year posting in Cyprus. Waiting for them at Dale Barracks were 175 renovated homes on which £10million had been spent bringing them up to modern standards with new kitchens, bathrooms, roofing and insulation.
The refurbishment was carried out by MODern Housing Solutions, a purpose-built joint venture company, made up from Carillion plc and Enterprise plc, and forms part of the MoD's overall £8.4billion programme aimed at upgrading all military accommodation over the next ten years.
MODern Housing delivered this tranche of housing on schedule and this bodes well for the remainder of the project.
